We hope after reading some on the merits of EFM Racing,
the Van Diemen RFS chassis, and the Sports 2000 class you will agree that
this is an exciting as well as affordable sport in which you can compete.
Bringing what Eric Purcell has learned over the years as a professional
driver as well as team manager his goal is to incorporate the professional
team concept into SCCA racing. The dynamics of a 4 to 6 car team can make
many of the costs associated with running, managing, and maintaining a
sophisticated racing machine much more affordable. Simple economies of
scale come into play with transportation, spares, testing, as well as
coaching.
We are looking for no more than a six-person team. Driver’s abilities will
range from professional to novice with training and instruction for all
ability levels as well as SCCA and other competition licensing
certification. If you do not currently hold a competition license we will
assist you.
Year-round servicing and transport of your car so you can live anywhere
and fly in or arrive and drive without any worries about set up or
maintenance for the racecar. You will be treated as “The Driver” and your
job will be improving at that task and not working on the race car, unless
you wish to.
We plan to be able to attend most any race event the group wishes but our
home track will be Portland International Raceway (PIR). Other circuits
will include Infineon Raceway, Laguna Seca, Buttonwillow, Thunderhill, SIR
(Seattle), Phoenix International Raceway, and California Speedway. We will
be planning to attend the SCCA runoffs with all members who qualify to
drive.
If you are looking to get into racing, back into racing, or wanting to get
into a real racing car like the Van Diemen to hone your skills as you move
up in class and ability then this is a great opportunity to learn from
Eric Purcell. Arrive and Drive rentals are available for the correct
accredited drivers.
At the moment transport will be in two car teams and cost will be adjusted
depending upon the number of team members attending an event or testing
session.

Thank you,
Eric Purcell
